Here are some ideas:
For "ping"
0. Check your subnet mask on both systems. Presumably is supposed to be
255.255.255.0
1. Check that ARP is functioning properly on both systems ("arp -a" on the
sidewinder or Windows will do)
After you do the ping, you should have an ARP entry for the destination
IP if it is on your local net.
If no ARP entry is found, investigate that with a sniffer.
2. Check that you have a rule that allows the PC to ping the firewall, if
that is what you are trying to do.
(The firewall should be able to ping the PC without any additional
rules, IIRC).
After you can ping your PC from the firewall, if you still cannot connect to
the admin console
1. Check that you didn't accidentally change the port number in your GUI
2. Make sure that the firewall is configured to use the same port you are
using, and has a valid X.509 cert.
If I am reading the man apges correctly, you can check via:
cf cert query # to list
the certificates
less /etc/sidewinder/proxy/scobrap.conf # To see which cert
COBRA is using
3. You have a support contract, yes? Call SCC!
